It's us!

We are Nadine, Stefan and Kai and we are pleased to welcome you to our website and perhaps soon to our holiday home in Reinhardsbrunn.

We've traveled extensively around the world, seen and experienced a great deal. But despite all the adventures and new experiences, we've repeatedly discovered how beautiful our home in the Thuringian Forest truly is and what wonderful highlights we have right on our doorstep :-)

That's what motivated us to share our hobby. Now, as hosts, we want you, our dear guests, to explore and experience the magnificent Thuringian Forest and our wonderful Thuringia, directly from the cradle of Thuringia, the former monastery and present-day Reinhardsbrunn Castle.

Our holiday home is located in the immediate vicinity, in the former ducal outer park (which, unfortunately, is no longer recognizable as such). Nevertheless, our holiday home is beautifully nestled in the Thuringian countryside and offers a wonderful escape from the stresses of everyday life.

Strive for tranquility, but through balance, not through inactivity.

Friedrich von Schiller, German poet, 1759 – 1805

Come and see for yourself, we look forward to seeing you!

Our logo,

A stylized snail shell - but why?

The garden snail symbolizes tranquility. It is silent, even when it crawls. The spiral on its shell represents centering. And when the snail leaves its shell, it signifies transience.

The snail shell displays a clockwise spiral. For the Celtic Druids, this symbolizes the soul's journey in the here and now, as well as the flow of life. At the center of the spiral, the soul begins its journey from its origin and develops. It grows and learns on its outward path. The snail shell with its clockwise spiral represents movement, energy, growth, and strength.

If the spiral is counter-clockwise, it symbolizes the return to the origin, to unity with the greater whole, the path to our deepest selves, and the end. Spirals always symbolize the cycle of life: becoming, living, passing away.

The garden snail appears to us to draw our attention to a time of retreat. Just as it takes its time on its journey, it invites us to slow down, breathe, and find stillness. The snail shows us what passes us by when we rush through life so relentlessly. It offers us the opportunity to dedicate ourselves once again to the small, important things in life, to take more frequent breaks along the way, to admire the treasures of nature, and to find joy in life. Let others rush, hurry, and overtake us. Let us remain calm. At the latest when others run out of breath or are blown off course by their excessive speed, we will catch up with them again, leisurely and relaxed, richly rewarded, and at peace with ourselves.

The most important message of the garden snail for us humans is: "The last will be first, for the first will be last." The snail advises us to take some distance from everything, to withdraw, and to rediscover our inner peace and strength.

Let's begin to recenter ourselves, to find our inner center. Let's let the snails guide us, let's go into nature, into the forest, and enjoy the silence, delight in all the beauty, and let ourselves be surprised by what is possible and what we will discover.
